neurogenic shock (countable and uncountable, plural neurogenic shocks)

  1. Shock caused by extreme excitability of the parasympathetic nervous system. This hyperexcitability is caused by severe pain and results in an extreme slowing of heartbeat and pulse, leading to a dangerous drop in blood pressure and hence shock.
