1. (literature) A poem or song consisting of a single verse.

     It may be mentioned, in this connection, that while the melodies in GrameGeya and the Aranyaka are based on mono-verses those in the Uha and Rahasya are elaborated generally on tfcas, triple Tcas, from the Uttara Arcika of the Samaveda.
