model village (plural model villages)

  1. A village providing a high standard of housing, built from the late 19th century onwards by landowners and business magnates to house workers. "Model" refers to the aspiration that the village be an ideal for other architects and planners to imitate.
  2. A miniature model of a village, not for habitation but used as a toy or as a visitor attraction.
