From Arabic مِيزَاب (mīzāb), مِرْزَاب (mirzāb) from Aramaic מַרְזְבָא (marzəḇā), מִרְזְבָא (mirzəḇā, gutter, spout, water-pipe), from earlier Aramaic נַרְזְבָא (narzəḇā, drain pipe, gutter), considered a variant of Akkadian 𒄿𒍝𒁉 (naṣṣabū, water outlet, drain).
