1. To lose control while attempting to trap (something).
   • 1969, Pakistan Textile Journal - Volume 20, page 42:

     The cutter and trapper mechanism utilises suction air for trapping yarns at each striper, a process designed to exclude mistrapping faults associated with mechanical devices and to enable higher speed knitting.
