1. To fertilize incorrectly, especially to use the wrong type of fertilizer.
   • 1994, Indian Poultry Industry Yearbook - Volume 10, page 297:

     two, excessive or misfertilizing of agricultural land leads to an accumulation of phosphate in the soil and nitrate in the ground water;

   • 2012, David A. Payne, Designing Educational Project and Program Evaluations:

     One must be careful not to fertilize incorrectly (or overfertilize or misfertilize) as the seeding may be of discontent rather than enthusiasm.
