  1. Since 2012, Suomen Metsäkeskus, the state authority responsible for promoting forestry and good care of nation's forest resources. The authority uses "The Finnish Forest Centre" as its official English name. The centre belongs to the maa- ja metsätalousministeriö (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry).
  2. Until 2011, any of the 13 regional authorities which were merged to establish the current state authority.
  3. Short for the R&D organization Metsätalouden kehittämiskeskus Tapio, ("Forestry Development Centre Tapio") [1].
