maximum break (plural maximum breaks)

  1. (snooker) The highest score possible in one visit to the table in a frame of snooker, 147 in normal circumstances (excluding the case where the break starts with a free ball), achieved by potting all fifteen reds with fifteen blacks and then the six colours in order.
