[edit]Alteration of mimivirus by analogy with pairs such as mini–maxi and micro–macro. Coined by La Scola et al in 2008.[1]

- Acanthamoeba polyphaga mimivirus, a member of family Mimiviridae, larger than any previously identified virus.
