[edit]Probably inherited from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀫𑀼𑀝𑁆𑀝 (*muṭṭa). Cognate with Kamkata-viri [script needed] (məṭo, “blunt”), Sindhi مُڏو (muɗo, “blunt”).
