[edit]From mähkima (“to wrap”) + -is (“product resulting from the action”).

- a wrapping
- Usage Notes: Generic usage has been shifting towards medical and engineering senses in specific. Culinary sense has been loosing popularity due to developed specifications and ambiguity caused by it. Now in culinary "rull" (roll) has partially started to cover the role of wrapping.
