Albanian

Etymology

[edit]

From Proto-Albanian *elaiwanja, based on *elaiwā, borrowed from Ancient Greek ἔλαιον (élaion, oil).[1]

This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.
Particularly: “If from a reconstructed form *elaiwā, wouldn't this probably come from Pre-Classical Greek *ἐλαίϝα, rather than directly from ἔλαιον?”

[edit]
