1. (transitive) take at face value

   Nu poți să iei de bune toate lucrurile pe care le auzi.

   You cannot take at face value all the things you hear.

Often used with the placeholder feminine pronoun o in the form o lua de bună, as general concepts or topics are referred as feminine in Romanian.
