Etymology

From Proto-Polynesian *rauka (compare with Maori roaka (“abundant”) plus Tahitian roaʻa and noaʻa) from Proto-Polynesian *lawa-ka thus doublet of lawa (“enough, sufficient”) with overlap of doublet of loa (“very, excessive”).[1][2]
