- (fandom slang) Section of a periodical in which readers' letters are published.
- 1958, Ralph Merridette Holland, Ghu's Lexicon, page 3:
- LETTERCOL - A letter column. One of the favorite haunts of the actifans.
- 1971 November, Jerry Kaufman, “The Flophouse?”, in Science-Fiction Five-Yearly[1], number 5, page 30:
- The lettercol is nearly incomprehensible, filled with references to some obscure in-group word, "prime".
