[edit]From the same word family as lašė́ti (“to drip, flow in drops”), though the exact morphological details are unclear. Either analyzed as laš-iniai, in which case directly from lašė́ti, or analyzed as lašin-iai, in which case from the related lãšinti (“to drip, pour in drops”).[1]
