Albanian

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

From an earlier kujtonj and kultonj, attested in Old Gheg; so, descendance from Proto-Albanian *kugitānja or a similar word [1] as an early borrowing from Latin cōgitō[2][3][4] presents some problems. Compare Romanian cugeta, Spanish cuidar.
