Etymology
[edit]Tosk variant of Gheg krand, from Proto-Albanian *ka-randa, from Proto-Indo-European *rendʰ- (“to tear”). Compare English rend, Sanskrit रन्ध्र (rándhra, “fissure, split”).[1]
