Noun

[edit]

kolmiperhehoito

  1. A form of municipal day care in which two to four (normally three) families team up, offering their homes alternately as premises for the day care of the children of all families involved, and the municipality provides the caregiver. The families benefit by getting their children into a smaller day care group than would otherwise be available, and the municipality skips providing the day care facilities and feeding the kids. There's no established English term for this, but the translation "three family day care" is often used.
