- (transitive) to place, to lay (to put something or someone in a particular place, usually horizontally)
- Synonyms: umiestňovať, ukladať, dávať
- Klásť dieťa do postieľky ― to lay a child in the crib
- (transitive) to arrange, to install (to position items in an organized way, often as part of construction or installation)
- Synonyms: inštalovať, ukladať
- Na ulici kladú inžinierske siete. ― They are installing engineering networks on the street.
- (transitive) to set, to determine (to establish or define goals, conditions, or requirements)
- Synonyms: určovať, stanovovať, vytyčovať
- Kladie si nereálne ciele. ― He sets unrealistic goals for himself.
- (transitive, literary) to situate, to attribute (to assign something historically or chronologically to a specific time or period)
