Cognates with Mohegan-Pequot kuski (“near, by, next to”), Munsee kíixkii (“near”), Mahican kaaxwe (“near, close”). Possibly cognate with Malecite-Passamaquoddy qihiw (“near, close”), Menominee kaeqceh (“close to, close by, near”). May be related to Proto-algonquian *čiᐧki (“close to, near”).
