[edit]From Proto-Finnic *kiukasa, a contracted compound of kivi (“stone”) + kasa (“heap, pile”). Compare Karelian kiukua.

- A sauna stove, traditionally a wood-burning stove; more commonly called a "sauna heater", especially when electric. It is covered with stones on which water is thrown in order to produce steam.
