Particularly: “Based on these Viet-Muong forms, the earlier form can be reconstructed as *C-rəɲ or *C-riɲ, this final palatal might go back further to the velar nasal but there is no way to ascertain, since I am not aware of any extra-Viet-Muong cognate.”
