karateman (plural karatemen)

  1. A male practitioner of karate.
    • 1992, John Corcoran, The Martial Arts Companion: Culture, History, and Enlightenment:
A good, tough street fighter, he insisted, could always beat a karateman, especially an Asian, because Asians were smaller, thinner, and just basically couldn't stand up to a big, tough, American street brawler.
    • 1998, Drum: A Magazine of Africa for Africa:
He recalls going to a cinema in New Canada, south of Johannesburg, some years ago to see karateman Jackie Chan in action. He'd become fascinated by the Japanese martial arts, and Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan were his heroes.
