jyotirlinga (plural jyotirlingas)

1. (Hinduism) A shrine where Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of a Jyotirlingam or "Lingam (pillar) of light."

     One of Shiva's revered Jyotirlingas is protected within the inner sanctum of the city's Kashi Vishwanath temple. It is one of the more famous lingas in the country.
