jungle boot (plural jungle boots)

  1. A vented combat boot designed for use in hot, wet and humid environments.
    • 1956, Anthony Burgess, Time for a Tiger (The Malayan Trilogy), published 1972, page 22:
When plaster fell from the ceiling it lay to be trampled by heavy jungle-boots.
    • 2011, Sam McGowan, Trash Haulers: The Story of the C-130 Hercules Troop Carrier/Tactical Airlift Mission:
The most common objects of pilfering were jungle fatigues and jungle boots, items that aircrew members were authorized – and encouraged – to wear, but which were difficult to obtain through normal supply channels since C-130 personnel were based outside of South Vietnam.
