[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish ایضاح (iżāḥ, “a making clearly visible, an explaining, elucidating”),[1][2] from Arabic إِيضَاح (ʔīḍāḥ, “clarification”), verbal noun of أَوْضَحَ (ʔawḍaḥa, “to make clear, to clarify; to elucidate”).[3]
