- The strengths of our study include (1) the use of a population-representative cohort of subjects aged 50 years and older in ROI; (2) the study population is racially homogeneous, over 99% being white; and (3) retinal photographs were graded in a masked fashion using standard protocols by the same person and therefore reducing intergrader variability.
