- A form of rectifier having a pool of mercury as cathode.
- 1960 March, “Silicon Rectifiers for a French dual-frequency Bo-Bo locomotive”, in Trains Illustrated, page 167:
- After the completion of final tests, BB-30003 went into service in September, 1959, hauling heavy express trains in the Eastern Region of the S.N.C.F. on the same schedules as the Class "BB-16000" locomotive fitted with S-W ignitrons.
