     In duodenal ulcer, vomiting is apt to occur at the time of the "hungerpain," two to four hours after food.

   • 1920, George Frederick Shrady, Thomas Lathrop Stedman, Medical Record - Volume 98, page 349:

     This seems to prove that the so-called "hungerpain" is not a positive factor in the diagnosis of duodenal ulcers, because when the stomach is at rest from midnight until morning, the patient is free from pain.

   • 1922, Norbert Ortner, Generalized Pain - Volume 2, page 548:

     Intestinal parasites (tenia, trichocephalus, ascarides, oxyuris) also cause chronic dyspeptic troubles (loss of appetite, bulemia, hungerpains, vomiting, diarrhea) with accompanying pseudoneurasthenic manifestations, principally headaches, also vertigo, palpitation and emaciation.
