Usage notes
[edit]Like ræd, hunderæd sometimes (rarely) unanticipatedly appears undeclinedly when predicative for a plural noun, as in these examples:
- 1956, Hans Aage Kaad, Korea kaldte: en danskers beretning fra fem års arbejde som welfare-officer indenfor FN's sociale hjælpearbejde i Korea:
- De var hunderæd for partisanerne, der som oftest var bedre udrustet samt bestialske i deres krigsførelse.
- They were scared as hell of the partisans, who were usually better-equipped and, additionally, bestial in their waging of war.
