[edit]From Proto-Finnic *hukta, from Proto-Finno-Permic *šukta, probably borrowed from Proto-Iranian [Term?] (compare Persian سوختن (sôxtan, “to burn”)).[1] Cognate with Erzya чувто (čuvto, “tree”), Moksha шуфта (šufta, “tree”).
