[edit]Metathesis of archaic and dialectal hurdhë, from Proto-Albanian *skurdā, from a Mediterranean substrate word *skʰor(o)d-[1] (compare Greek σκόρδο (skórdo), Armenian սխտոր (sxtor)).[2]
