hop up (third-person singular simple present hops up, present participle hopping up, simple past and past participle hopped up)

  1. (transitive) To excite (people).
  2. (intransitive) To get in a high vehicle.
  3. (intransitive) To stand up quickly.
  4. (transitive, idiomatic) To make something, especially a machine, better (faster, bigger etc.); to soup up.
  5. Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see hop,‎ up.
    Don't let the cat hop up onto the kitchen counter!
