From German homosexuell, a compound of Ancient Greek ὁμός (homós, same) and Late Latin sexualis, from Latin sexus (sex, gender).

Lang tid efterpå fikk jeg en forklaring: vedkommende er homoseksuel, og mine venner kunde dessuten regne op 3 andre menn som også gikk klædd i kvinneklær.
      Later, I have meet Næånpækjin, the mystical mistress (...) and soon got to know that «she» was simply not a woman, but a man, who (...) decided to go in woman clothes, live as a woman and take the name Næånpækjin. Long time thereafter I’ve got an explanation: the subject is a homosexual, and my friends could count 3 other men, who walked in woman clothes too.
