[edit]- Hittiðfyrra is the spelling recommended by Árnastofnun,[1] while a column writer for the Morgunblaðið recommends hittifyrra.[2] Both are shown in dictionaries alongside hitteðfyrra. Other variants in use are hitt í fyrra and hittífyrra, likely due to influence by í fyrra.
