[edit]hansi- + -kas, a nativized variant of hanska, possibly coined by Finnish folklorist and linguist Daniel Europaeus in 1853.

Usage notes
[edit]- hansikas is normally used of a glove that is made of non-textile material such as leather or rubber. A knitted glove is called sormikas.
