[edit]A -ull lengthening of grumb, from Proto-Albanian *grumba, from Proto-Indo-European *gru(m)bʰ, derivative of Proto-Indo-European *grewb- (“to crumple, bend, crawl”). Identical with Latvian grumbulains (“uneven, rough”), and close to Old Church Slavonic grǫbь (grǫbĭ, “ignorant, uneducated”), Old Norse kryppa (“hump”).
