Aboriginal Australian, an anglicization of a Nyunga language word from Western Australia describing a naturally-formed rock hole and its retained rain water.[1]

  1. (Australia, geology) A hollow or hole that is eroded or indented in bare rock, in which water collects.
    Synonym: gnamma hole
