glaucescence
Appearance
English
[edit]Etymology
[edit]By surface analysis, glaucescent + -ence, though Merriam-Webster presumes a New Latin *glaucēscēntia, from New Latin glaucēscēns (“glaucescent”).[1] However, the Missouri Botanical Garden's A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin holds no examples attesting this, instead attesting Latin glaucēdō.[2]

[edit]Noun
[edit]glaucescence (countable and uncountable, plural glaucescences)
