Etymology

From Old Irish gabor (goat, horse),[1][2] from Proto-Celtic *gabros (he-goat), from Proto-Indo-European *kápros (male hooved animal). Cognate with Latin caper (goat) and Ancient Greek κάπρος (kápros, wild boar).
