Etymology
[edit]An allusion to the Australian animated preschool television series Bluey, widely viewed and enjoyed by age regressors. By analogy with euphemistic terms such as friend of Dorothy (“a homosexual man”) and friend of Bill W. (“a recovering alcoholic”).
Attested as early as 8 November 2021 by Twitter user @IcePup92 during a conversation on Telegram with Twitch streamer @Aesthetic_exe_ who sought a subtle way to signify being a babyfur. Popularised by an April 2024 tweet (see quotations).
