Originally a brand name of Chevrolet, from fleet +‎ side.

Noun

[edit]

fleetside (plural fleetsides)

  1. A pickup truck having flat bedsides (outside quarter panels). The rear quarter panels are flat and run lengthways along the wheel-well openings. Excludes both stepside and styleside truck bed styles.
That pickup truck is a fleetside because the sides of the box are flat.
