[edit]flabelo m (plural flabelos)
- Flabellum (large fan with long handle).
- Outside, under a vast tent, the usual funeral banquet would begin, but I heard nothing; After this and his celebration, Pharaoh and the diners would return to Thebes. Once a year, when the god Amun of Karnak crosses the river in a wooden boat from Lebanon, to visit the necropolis, Ramses would come to the Valley, waving a censer; He would be escorted by the vizier, with the flabellum, and the Royal Scribe, who would bring a bouquet of papyrus. Year after year they would come, the tenth month. Now darkness and silence were the pharaohs; the desert too, its enormous ally.
