1. (medicine) The growth of fibrous tissue on a gland.
   • 1923, International Medical Digest, page 316:

     In disease of the spleen, especially Banti's disease or fibro-adenia of the spleen, the increase of leukocytes is absent or slight, with no relative lymphocytosis.

   • 1931, Alfred Piney, Recent Advances in Haematology, page 280:

     The more advanced the disease, the larger the number of follicles affected by fibro-adenia, but it is rare to find.

   • 1937, George Blumer, The Practitioners Library of Medicine and Surgery:
