Etymology

[edit]

Regularly the verb “to pour” (Arabic فَرَّغَ (farraḡa)) should be ferragħ, while the verb “to branch out” (Arabic فَرَّعَ (farraʕa)) should be ferra'. However, due to confluence in several conjugated forms, both have been merged and are now variants.
