1. (science fiction fandom slang) A fan who rejects organized fandom, often as being motivated by anarchist thought.
   • 1975 February, John Boardman, “In Memoriam: David Mason”, in Science Fiction Review, volume 4, number 1, page 13:

     During the 1950s Dave was active in the Fanarchist crowd—those largely New York fans who avoided both fannish and mundane politics on the grounds that fanning should be fun.
