eyeshade (plural eyeshades)

  1. (countable) A type of headgear for shielding the eyes from glaring light, usually consisting of a visor and a headband, more popular among indoor workers in the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries than today.
    Synonym: sleep mask
    Hypernym: blindfold
  2. (not countable) A cosmetic product which may be applied to the upper eyelid and to the area near the eye to change skin coloration.
