  1. (pharmacology) An antineoplastic drug C20H24O2 (trademark Aromasin) that is taken orally in the treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is a steroidal aromatase inhibitor that suppresses the synthesis of estrogen, a hormone that acts as a growth factor for breast cancer cells.
