end rhyme (countable and uncountable, plural end rhymes)

  1. (often uncountable) The form of rhyme (rhyming) which uses sameness of sound of the last words of lines from the vowels in their stressed syllables to their ends.
  2. (countable) A word that rhymes with another in that it is pronounced identically with the other word from the vowel in its stressed syllable to the end.

      In this poem, the words defense/tense, know/go, and Spain/Maine are end-rhymes.
